FELDA Achieves 9001:2008 Certification

On 17th July 2014, the Country Director of CI International Certification Sdn Bhd, Mr. Ooi Soo Kang (1st left stand) handed over ISO 9001:2008 Certification to Y.Bhg Datuk Hj Faizoull bin Ahmad (2nd right stand), Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) Director General in the presence of YB Dato’ Razali bin Ibrahim (2nd left stand), Deputy Minister and YB Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Hj Mohd Isa bin Dato’ Hj Abdul Samad (middle), FELDA Chairman at FELDA HQ Grand Ballroom. The ISO 9001:2008 scope of certification is Plantation and Community Development covers total employee of 3145 for FELDA HQ, 11 Pejabat Wilayah FELDA and 317 Schemes/ estates and settlers communities in the country.


Federal Land Development Authority

FELDA was established on July 1, 1956 under the Land Development Ordinance of 1956 for the development of land and relocation with the objective of poverty eradication through the cultivation of oil palm and rubber. FELDA is part of the Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad (FGV), the world’s largest palm oil producer and oil palm plantation operator, based on planted hectares. FGV is the world’s largest Crude Palm Oil (CPO) producer and the second largest Malaysian palm oil refiner, controlling over 850,000 hectare of land in the country, including approximately 500,000 hectare that it leases and manages for smallholders.

FELDA continues to carry major role by providing adequate and modern facilities on the schemes, ensuring the next generation of explorers educated to enhance the socio-economic and quality of life and ensuring the schemes can generate various economic activities as well as bridging the gap between urban and small urban areas. FELDA focus is to be the ‘Economic Powerhouse’ in generating economic activities in 2020 through its structural program with a wide range of human capital potential.
