Certification International is extremely proud to announce that it has now achieved UKAS accreditation ISO 14001:2015, the latest revision of the environmental management standard.
All ISO 14001:2004 clients will need to transition to the 2015 revision before September 2018. Now would be a good time for clients to obtain a copy of the published Standard from our bookshop and plan their transition process as much in advance of the deadline, so that they have plenty of time to address the requirements, provide training to staff and make changes to their management system.
Certification International will be working closely with clients to help interpret and understand the new revision, with the provision of a transition checklist ensuring that affected organisations are able to identify the areas of change and make modifications to their management systems.
The Checklist will be used as a gap analysis to provide an indication of the organisation’s readiness for audit against ISO 9001:2015 and will form part of their transition process. The final element will then be an on-site transition audit.
The transition audits will be carried out through a separate Special Audit either as a stand-alone audit or alongside a scheduled surveillance or recertification visit. Clients are required to ensure that they have identified and implemented the required changes to their Management System before the transition audit is undertaken. The Audit Guide published by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) clearly states that: “In the event that an audit of transition is conducted in conjunction with a pre-programmed surveillance or reassessment audit, extra time is required to ensure that all activities comply.”
